What AASTRO's customers have
to say!

Questions You MUST
Ask Before
You Choose a Transmission Shop!
|
- HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
NO ONE can tell what parts are broken or worn out in your transmission over the phone. Transmissions
have between 250 and 700 parts. When a shop gives you a price "off the top of their head" or a "guesstimate" - WATCH OUT! How do they know what to charge when they haven't even see your vehicle? When your
vehicle arrives, AASTRO will provide you the necessary "hands-on" approach to
accurately diagnose and price the work that needs to be done. Many times transmissions can be repaired without
high costs.
- TECHNICAL ABILITY?
Most
shops have an affiliation (pay dues) with the Automatic Transmission Rebuilder's Association (ATRA), Automotive Transmission
Service Group (ATSG) or Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or someone at the shop has been certified, at one time, by one
or the other. All of AASTRO's employees are certified by ATRA, ATSG and/or ASE - and they maintain their currency. These technicians,
together with the most up-to-date diagnostic equipment, computerized technical information and tools, provide AASTRO with the best environment possible to properly diagnose
and repair your vehicle.
- HOW ARE THE TECHNICIANS PAID?
The
majority of repair facilities pay their technicians by the job ("flat-rate" or piece work) or by commission. The more it costs
YOU - the more they make. This method presents a temptation to overcharge, charge for work not performed, or have the customer
pay for unnecessary work. All of
AASTRO's technicians are paid a
salary or a 'straight' hourly wage.
